The Maui County Council’s Housing and Land Use Committee will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday to get an update on the state’s housing efforts on Maui.
Nani Medeiros, the state’s chief housing officer, will discuss Gov. Josh Green’s emergency proclamation on housing as well as state efforts to address Maui’s housing shortage, said Council Member Tasha Kama, who chairs the committee.
“In light of our island’s recent wildfire disaster, it is of utmost importance that we forge ahead with finding solutions to what was already a housing crisis, and has now become an actual housing emergency,” Kama said in a news release Monday.
Testimony will be taken in person at the Council Chambers and online via bluejeans.com/834693029 following Medeiros’ presentations on each agenda item.
