KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMBC) - Fans of the Kansas City Chiefs are not just talking about the team’s Super Bowl aspirations.
They are also infatuated with head coach Andy Reid’s frozen mustache.
Saturday’s Chiefs game was the coldest in Arrowhead Stadium history as they beat the Miami Dolphins in the wild-card round of the NFL playoffs.
It was so cold, Reid’s mustache froze up like an icicle.
Now, a Kansas bakery is memorializing the iconic look with a Reid cake featuring the frozen mustache.
Cassidy Garr, director of guest experience at McLain’s Bakery and Market, says the bakery has gotten “a lot of feedback” and “laughs” about the cake.
“We’ve actually been talking about maybe some cookies or a cake with a cracked helmet on it,” Garr said.
Also during Saturday’s game, Patrick Mahomes briefly played with a cracked helmet after a tackle.
“While outer shell damage is not ideal, the ZERO2 helmet did its job of protecting Patrick Mahomes during a head-to-head impact during unprecedented cold temperatures,’’ helmet creator VICIS said in a statement.
